Mission

A Foundation was established in Sally M. Kingsbury's name to raise funds specifically for sarcoma cancer research. Her hope was that research for a cure for sarcoma cancer would continue beyond her life. Contributions made by individuals, corporations and grants to the Sally M. Kingsbury Sarcoma Research Foundation will provide funds for research facilities dedicated to finding a cure for sarcoma. Fundraising occurs through an annual knockout roses sale in the Spring of each year, fundraisers, annual sponsors, and being a recipient of the Tour de Gruene bike race in the fall of each year.

Since our inception in 2007, the SMKSR Foundation has granted over $152,000 to dedicated sarcoma cancer research facilities.

In 2014, our Foundation sponsored its first Sarcoma Medical Symposium in New Braunfels, Texas with the researchers and practicing doctors from the Adult Sarcoma Research Center at MD Anderson Cancer Center in Houston, TX. Over 50 participants attended the day long event.
