Mission

Action to Cure Kidney Cancer (ACKC) goal has been, since 2003, to ensure adequate funding for the development of medical technology for therapies that will cure metastatic kidney cancer. Through our advocacy efforts, the U.S. Congress included, in 2006, kidney cancer in an established program at the Department of Defense. In 2017, Congress established a new initiative, the Kidney Cancer Research Program (KCRP). Since 2006, Congress has funded over 100 researchers with $150 million and will provide another $50 million this year to the KCRP. With KCRP funding secure, ACKC is now focusing on early detection and prevention of kidney cancer and in lowering the cost of kidney cancer care, especially drug prices.
