Mission
Ludwig Cancer Research is a global community of leading scientists pursuing innovative ways to prevent and control cancer. We combine basic research with the ability to translate discoveries and conduct clinical trials to accelerate the development of new cancer diagnostics and therapies. The Ludwig Institute for Cancer Research Ltd, established by American businessman Daniel K. Ludwig in 1971, is an international not-for-profit which has invested over $2.3 billion in cancer research. The LICR Fund, Inc., valued at $1.7 billion, manages the Institute’s assets. Ludwig Centers and Ludwig professorships have been established at six leading U.S. Institutions with endowments from the Virginia and D.K. Ludwig Fund for Cancer Research.
