Mission
The Alzheimer's and Aging Research Center is focused on Alzheimer's disease and other aging-related illnesses, such as heart disease, stroke, arthritis and prostate cancer. Our mission consists of several components: funding research, educating the public, fostering scientific collaborations, and supporting the training and mentoring of students and scientists who are new to the field. The science we support is both the established, ongoing, highly promising work, as well as the more exploratory, "cutting-edge" research. We educate the public about these illnesses, we maintain a website, we ensure the production of written publications and oral presentations of the research that we have funded, we foster scientific collaborations across the world, and we provide training opportunities to students at all levels.
